WE ARE GRATEFUL TO EVERYONE WHO HELPS OUR COMMUNITY IN ANY SMALL WAY
We are sincerely grateful for the individuals, local businesses, and community leaders who uplift our initiatives through donations, sponsorships, and collaborative partnerships. These contributions are more than financial support, they’re an investment in the wellbeing of our local families.
Grassroots involvement remains at the heart of our work. It’s through shared effort, mutual respect, and genuine connection that we’re able to offer programs that nurture belonging, resilience, and growth. Whether you’re offering time, resources, skills, or support, every act of generosity strengthens our ability to deliver inclusive services that make a real difference.

Some Stories On How You Have Helped Our Community
Below are just some of the incredible projects we’ve undertaken over the years, in no particular order, along with exciting initiatives on the horizon. If you would like to help us with support or sponsorship, please contact the centre manager directly.
SOLAR PANELS & BATTERIES FOR THE FAMILY CENTRE – 2025
We’re thrilled to share an upcoming election commitment from Hugh Jones MLA and the Cook Government: the installation of solar panels and battery storage at the Family Centre—a major step toward sustainability and resilience.
This upgrade means the Centre will stay operational during power outages or emergencies, offering a safe, reliable space when it’s needed most.
What it means for our community:
- Reliable Power: Vital services, especially children’s programs, will run uninterrupted during grid failures.
- Essential Comfort: Access to a hot shower offers relief during blackouts or personal hardship.
- Connectivity & Safety: Charging devices on-site helps community members stay in touch and informed.
- Installation Timeline: Expected completion by August–September 2025.
This initiative strengthens our ability to support local families in times of need while reducing our environmental footprint.
Free tickets for community, by local member, Matt Moran
A big thank you to Matt Moran for generously sponsoring free tickets for a community pasta-making class! His support gave locals a chance to connect, learn, and enjoy something delicious together, completely free of charge.
We’re so grateful for sponsors like Matt who go beyond the expected and invest in opportunities that nourish both body and community spirit. What a wonderful example of thoughtful giving for community.
Roleystone Book Exchange
In late 2024, we approached the Waterwheel Community Shed with a simple idea: a weather-safe, accessible Book Exchange that could be proudly cared for by the local community.
Inspired by earlier efforts at the community hall, we designed a version that would meet the needs of our space and our people. The incredible team at the Men’s Shed took our vision and brought it to life, crafting a sturdy, purpose-built structure with the care and skill they’re known for. They not only built it, but installed and reinforced it to ensure it stands strong for years to come.
Today, this little book exchange is thriving and regularly visited, tidied, and even sprinkled with kindness gifts from locals. It’s a small hub of generosity that truly reflects what community can achieve.
Come check it out — swap a story, leave a surprise, or simply enjoy a space built by and for Roleystone.
Orchard Espresso Fundraising Day 2023
Orchard Espresso hosted an outstanding fundraiser in support of the family centre, raising over $3,000 to be invested directly into initiatives that bring people together. The event was more than just a financial success; it was a beautiful example of what can happen when community spirit thrives. With generous contributions and heartfelt encouragement from everyone who rallied behind the Orchard team, this fundraiser reminded us that collective support truly makes a difference.
Together, we’re stronger and thanks to this event, our community pot is now a little fuller and a lot brighter.
Steel signage by BLOOM real estate – 2025
When you drive into the Family centre you will first see the beautifully craft steel sign and the larger colourful sign! They look amazing and they were generously sponsored by Bloom real estate! Not only did Fraser from Bloom, support us with new signs, he went above and beyond and organised it too! We are incredibly grateful for Bloom Real Estate’s contribution. If you’re in need of real estate services, or simply want to show your appreciation, let Fraser and his team know how much their generosity means to our community.

Mia Davies (Nationals Party) – 2025 Federal Election
Thanks to generous sponsorship from Mia Davies (Nationals for Bullwinkel), free tickets to our Incense Making Workshop were offered to community members in celebration of local connection and creativity. This opportunity allowed participants to engage in a hands-on experience at no cost, with nominations collected via Facebook and winners drawn live.
These small acts of support remind us that when leaders invest in community, everyone benefits. The Roleystone Family Centre extends sincere gratitude to Mia Davies for sponsoring this initiative.
Community Share Cart – Roleystone Mens Shed (Neil Kenneady)
A huge thank you to Neil Kenneady and the team at the newly named Waterwheel Community Shed (formerly Roleystone Men’s Community Shed) for creating a beautiful sharing cart for our Centre!
Crafted with care and community spirit, this versatile cart is now a central hub for locals to exchange produce, plant cuttings, recycled goods, and whatever creative items we dream up next. It’s a small structure with a big purpose: to foster generosity, sustainability, and connection in our neighbourhood.
We’re deeply grateful to Neil and everyone involved for turning a simple idea into something so meaningful. Community-led kindness like this keeps our Centre thriving.
Toy library storage – supported by lotterywest – 2014
In 2014, the Family Centre received generous support from Lotterywest to upgrade the Roleystone Toy Library’s storage system. Our original roll-away cupboards, while well-used, had become difficult to access and didn’t provide the level of safety or visibility we wanted for families and children.
Thanks to a successful grant application, we were able to install new, purpose-built cupboards, making the toy collection easier to browse, safer to use, and better organised for everyone.
We’re grateful to Lotterywest for helping us create a more accessible and enjoyable experience for our local families.
Donations of Mulch for the Community Centre
Over the years, we’ve been incredibly fortunate to receive generous donations of mulch from several tree lopping companies in the hills, local businesses who quietly respond when our community calls. Their contributions help keep weeds down at our Centre, nourish the garden next door, and support sustainable practices using mulch from local trees, lowering the risk of pests and disease.
3 of the wonderful local tree loppers who donate are; NNC Contracting, AAA TREE Contractors and Beavers Tree Services.
We’re deeply grateful to these community-minded businesses for their ongoing support. It’s these quiet acts of generosity that keep our neighbourhood thriving, one wheelbarrow at a time.
Donations for the Santa, Lolly drive drop off point – 2022
A huge thank you to Jack at Roleystone FRESH IGA for their generous support of the Roleystone Karragullen Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Santa visit! Their contribution helped bring extra cheer to a beloved local tradition, and we’re so grateful for the kindness behind it.
To those who donated individually wrapped lollies, thank you! The family centre were collecting on behalf of our local firies as a drop off point, and community responded so generously.
We’re so fortunate to have such a giving community and a wonderfully supportive local IGA.
Reticulation for Wildlife and Community – Bendigo Bank – 2023
As you stroll up the path to the Family Centre, take a moment to enjoy the vibrant greenery lining the way, made possible through generous support from the Roleystone Karragullen Bendigo Bank. Their funding enabled us to plant a beautiful array of native flora and install reticulation, so the gardens remain lush and self-watered throughout the seasons.
This welcoming landscape not only enhances our shared space but also nourishes the local wildlife who call it home. Roleystone’s natural beauty is a point of pride, and the Family Centre reflects that from the moment you arrive.
A heartfelt thank you to our community bank. your contribution has made a lasting and meaningful difference
Wildlife boxes from Darling Range Wildlife Shelter – 2023
Nestled among the treetops, you’ll spot a series of beautifully crafted wildlife boxes, lovingly installed by the dedicated volunteers from Darling Range Wildlife Shelter. These custom homes are designed to support our treasured locals: possums, owls, parrots, and even bats.
They’re more than just shelters, they’re a symbol of care, connection, and community action. By showcasing these boxes, we hope to inspire others to join the movement and create safe havens for wildlife in their own backyards.
